About the ArtistMy name is Janine Koefoed, I was born in Tasmania but I have lived in Perth for twenty -five years, and have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. I studied art through High school, College and majored in art at University. I have won many awards for my ceramic and China painting over the years and also designed and created Leadlights. Fifteen years ago I decided to concentrate on watercolours and joined the Rockingham Watercolour Society. I have exhibited and sold my paintings at several Council Exhibitions. I have contentedly decided to devote more time to my painting. I spend a lot of time trucking around Australia with my husband which provides me a great opportunity to capture the beauty of our country in photographs to use later for my paintings. My paintings are varied, vibrant and distinctive in composition, the current ones I am working on are titled ‘Colour of our Country’ which are about our outback, coastline and our animals. I also do a lot of Abstract which may even be described as Graphic in design , they are usually all (full sheets) approx 80x100 and 638 gm. weight paper, or ½ sheet panels’.
